Describe "red" without using "red"

I really enjoyed writing my previous post, of trying to describe the colour “blue” without using the word “blue”. So I thought, why not I do the same with all the 7 colours of the rainbow? That would settle my 200wad posts for the next 6 days at least. What a great slump cheat - it gives multiple times over itself!

Some context for the game for those reading this for the first time:

You are talking to a blind man who asks you to describe the colour “red”. Write down what you would tell this man without once using the word “red” in your explanation.

Warmth and heat is how it is like. Imagine the comforting sensation on your skin from the first rays of the sun after a long cold winter. Or standing in front of an oven while watching bread bake within. But to understand it just in terms of temperature is myopic, because it is also more about temperament! Passion and love are the key temperaments here. The fire in your belly, that rush of blood through your face, that consuming impulse for something just because you love it. It is the sensation of watching bread bake in front of the oven, but it is also the satiating fulfilment from breaking and eating the same bread. I can’t think of a better descriptor for it other than pure energy. It is the driving force of life, the thrill of the chase. Without which, death comes and everything stops. With it, life begins.
